Every year Diggers Hotline and the Damage Prevention Council of Wisconsin (DPC) hold a free series of safety seminars throughout Wisconsin. All contractors, excavators, utility workers, any anyone else interested in utility damage prevention are encouraged to attend.
Each meeting begins with a buffet meal followed by a safety-focused program and concludes with doors prizes. The program consists of information from OSHA, American Transmission Company (ATC), Diggers Hotline and the Damage Prevention Council of Wisconsin. Each year, updated information is included so it is beneficial for first time attendees as well as those that have attended in previous years.
At the meetings representatives from many of the sponsoring utility companies, locators, hydro-vac services and equipment rental companies set up display booths and are on hand to address any questions or concerns attendees many have. This is a great way for attendees to interact with their peers and stay up to date on any industry changes.
The first meeting will be held on Tuesday January 17th in Waukesha, and the final meeting on the schedule is Wednesday April 4th in Wautoma. A few changes have been made to the 2012 schedule including, a meeting added in Monroe, a second meeting added in Eau Claire and the La Crosse meeting is moving to Onalaska. Also, the meetings in Baldwin, Marshfield and Rhinelander will be held at new venues.
