DH Member Services Department Continues to Work on Updating Maps
Not only has the system that Diggers Hotline uses changed recently, but so have the maps that the call center uses.
The process started last year, when all members were provided hard copies of their polygons from the Diggers Hotline member database after it was imported into the Teldig system. The Member Services department, which handles mapping issues, worked hard to ensure that that all polygons met with member approval before the cut to the new system.
Now that Teldig is up and running, the staff in Member Services is just as busy. As part of the transition to the new system, the base maps were changed to the most current edition of Navtech data, one of the sources used by Mapquest, Yahoo! Maps and OnStar.
The new Navtech maps provide an upgrade to the previous maps that DH used in most of the state. However, there were areas that may have been downgraded.
If you notice any specific areas of the state that could use improvement to the maps, let our Member Services Department know. They’ll let you know how to get a certified map to them so that they can make the changes to the basemaps.
