Remote Options for Diggers Hotline
There are two ways to access Diggers Hotline remotely, through a downloadable application or through your web browser.
To use either method, a user must complete training, when a username and password will be provided. It is not possible to use the remote options without a username and password. Details about training will be available shortly.
Although the functionality of both the application and web browser are very similar, there are some differences.
Terminal Server
Downloading the executable file will install an application that allows a user
to connect to the Diggers Hotline server. It is simple to use and install.
Your computer must be configured so that you have permission to download .exe
files and install software. Consult your local network administrator for
further details.
If you are using Microsoft XP as your operating system, the terminal server application is already installed on your computer. In the start menu, look in Programs>Accessories>Communications>Remote Desktop Connections. When prompted, the Diggers Hotline server is 70.229.98.201
To install the Terminal Server, click the link.
A Microsoft Word document explaining the installation is here.
Web Server
Using your browser to access the Diggers Hotline server involves no installation of software and allows the same access as the Terminal Server application. However, a user cannot print any information when using the Web Server. Click here to access the Web Terminal
Server.
