Take Trench Safety Seriously with OSHA

June is Trench Safety Month and OSHA encourages Wisconsin excavators to take trench safety seriously and has partnered with NUCA for Trench Safety Stand Down Week, which is June 14-18.

A Safety Stand Down presents the opportunity for employers to talk directly to employees and others about safety. These Stand Downs will focus on trench & excavation hazards and reinforce the importance of using trench protective systems and protecting workers from trenching hazards.

OSHA is looking to increae stakeholder awareness of trenching hazards. Contractors planning on having a Trench Safety Stand Down can contact their local area office to see if an OSHA staff member is available to attend as an outreach event.
