As Covid-19 continues to impact Wisconsin and evolve daily, we want you to know that Diggers Hotline has taken steps to ensure that we can remain open to serve both our members and excavators through this crisis.  Due to social distancing guidelines we have been reducing the staff in our building by both adjusting schedules and using work-at-home agents as part of the solution.  Though this may potentially result in longer call times or hold times, even “essential businesses” need to do their part to slow the outbreak of this dangerous virus.

We ask that if you have an active ticket that you are choosing to delay work on, please cancel that ticket to prevent locator resources from being unnecessarily utilized.  If you run into a situation where a facility was not marked by the start date/time, please contact the utility or their locator directly for the fastest resolution.  Locate phone numbers are now listed on the ticket associated to each identified member.

Diggers Hotline remains open for all Wisconsin excavators.

Please consider using one of our online Portals for your locate requests.

Please enter valid phone numbers on your locate request, for both caller and field representative. With the sudden switch to work at home, office phone numbers may no longer be the best way for Diggers Hotline or utility locators to contact excavators.

As we all face the new and difficult challenges brought on by COVID-19, we want you to know that the team at Diggers Hotline remains fully operational and is accepting locate requests via our contact center and our online portals.

We are here 24 hours a day, seven days a week and continue to perform our important role in damage prevention by processing locate requests from excavators and sending that information to affected utility members.  We are committed to continuing our service for professional excavators, amateur excavators and members.

Our contact center can still be reached by dialing 8-1-1 in Wisconsin or 800-242-8511.

We strongly encourage you to submit your locate requests online, with one of our three Portal products.

You can file locate requests on your own with the ProPortal. Locate requests filed with ProPortal are entered directly into our system, and after a new user works through a short probationary period, are sent directly to utility members.

Other online options include Portal-Lite, a streamlined product for professionals with less options than the ProPortal, and the DIY Portal, which is designed for homeowners filing their own locate requests.

We will continue to closely track the evolving situation and will post updates on our website.
